Financing for Access & Delivery Amid a Global Crisis: Innovative Approaches to Maintain Momentum on Neglected Diseases
Uniting Efforts hosted the first in a series of webinars on 2 July 2020, bringing together neglected disease experts to discuss innovative financing approaches for access and delivery of lifesaving treatments, diagnostics and other health technologies in developing countries – including how to maintain momentum during and after the COVID-19 pandemic. Speakers highlighted that with the crisis straining health systems and disrupting health service delivery around the world, now is the time to redouble our efforts to ensure that vulnerable communities have the necessary tools to protect against neglected diseases.
The event also launched the discussion paper, “Landscape of Funding and Financing Opportunities for Access and Delivery of Health Technologies for Neglected Diseases,” developed by Uniting Efforts Consultant Rohit Malpani. The interactive presentation of the paper was followed by a panel and Q&A session.
